So here’s a terrifying implication of Canada’s new citizenship law that I’ve not heard anyone mention before.
What the fuck
solidarity ends with goyim :’)
I know this is ~just a hypothetical~ but literally how many times have we heard that one
For those who haven’t read the article, the law says that if you’re a Canadian citizen who can or actually does have citizenship in another country, you can be deported, while Canadian citizens who are “Old Stock” (the article’s words, not mine) cannot be deported. Since Israel’s Law of Return makes Israeli citizenship practically guaranteed for any and all Jews, Canadian Jews fall into the class of deportable citizens.
Jesus.
@johnskylar, this is relevant to you on multiple levels.
Yeah, the thing here is that there are several competing schools of thought on how this law works, and it definitely wasn’t intended to interact with the Law of Return in this fashion.
I am not into the idea of bandying this as intentionally targeting Jews because it isn’t designed to do that.
This law is about intentionally targeting Muslims, and we should not derail the clear Islamophobia here into a hypothetical about anti-Semitism.
Of course, if they do use this against a Canadian Jew, expect me to be first in line to spit fire at Harper.
